Installing Windows Server using Peplink KVM
Fun fact, im currently using one of those three monitors as I bought it from them!
Technically traded with cash on top
I have searched the internet for this answer, I am building a van and I do not work remotely, at the most I watch a lot of youtube. Will PepLink keep me covered 90% of the time across the US?
Sound dome is a 2x2x2 built in speaker system that consists of a speaker at each corner of the screen plus 2 sub woofers in the middle of the screen - Thus 2 at each end plus 2 in the middle = 2x2x2. If this was an OLED display I'd own one. Current price on Amazon is $1,799.99
i have triple 55" on a 4090, and cannot get them all to run can get any two at one time only. the computer recognises all three but only plays 2 at a time. you said you swapped the boxes and it fixed it on thje 3090 how did you go with setting it up to the 4090?
any luck?
@@brandonfrancken5955 yes, lol, was frustrating af, but eventually figured it out... 4090 can only push 4 monitors @4K/120Hz... but the samsung has a game mode that needs to be turned off for the monitors to drop the framerate, once that is done it works like a charm giggled like a little school girl when i finally got my sim running on trip 55'', it is awesome
How do I do this when I have devices in the field that are Only on Cellular connections? They have 2 Cell uplinks.
It's best to tether another device like a cell phone or max adapter or send them a br1 and wire it in
Awesome Video! Quick question. Can you connect it to wifi mesh nodes? I currently have 3 ASUS ZenWiFi AX Mini (XD4) nodes. Thanks for any info.
Most Wi-Fi mesh solutions, support bridge mode and so basically it treats it like a wireless access point off of your router I know for a fact the orbu products do So a lot of times when I'm running with mesh networks for installs, I'll set up the peplink router as the controller of the network put the mesh in a bridge mode and connect it into the peplink routers lan port that will allow you to extend your wireless network and keep your mesh while having all the benefits of a peplink router
Thank you for this video. I became aware of this device looking for a backup for Starlink to handle the short outages I'm experiencing. My setup is residential. I'm barely in 5G range, and the router needs to be on the first floor, so technically in the ground with even poorer cell reception. Can you recommend an external antenna to use with this unit? Thanks again!
The most powerful antenna for bad coverage areas in my opinion is the Maritime. 40g I know it sounds crazy, but it's built for boats and is incredibly powerful. You could use extension cables to get the antenna out of your building. It's pretty pricey but it is by far the best antenna. The other option would be the mobility 42g which I recommend over the mobility. 40g if you're in a bad coverage area, it's much less than Maritime. 40g but it depends on your coverage area and if you can get these antennas outside and mounted to your the wall of your building. The other option would be a directional antenna aiming towards a cell tower like the iot 20g and there are other brands that make really good directional antennas.
If u look for info on cyber security, pls jump to the 12th min of this video. very useful video for customer 1st into on peplink
Thanks for sharing
I like the bank vault! 😆
Thanks we like it too
I've always wondered if I could make this work on our RV. Great video!
🙏
What is difference between Peplink and Cradlepoint? Do you have any information?
There are lots of differences mostly in the ecosystem and bonding. Peplink has 18 years of bonding experience making them one of the 4Runners in the technology. Outside of amazing technology, we also have a very robust ecosystem that covers Enterprise infrastructure access points, switches and cellular devices and the cellular vices have one, two, four and up to 12 5G modems creating the most robust, reliable internet possible. Additionally, our in control cloud management platform is incredibly user-friendly and does not require a partner or cradle point to add and remove devices or manage your infrastructure. All of our products are perpetual in licensing, which means they will work forever and you can download firmware forever for the life of the product. If you do not choose to pay for a warrantee for a peplink device, you simply lose access to the cloud management platform, but you can still manage the devices locally, configure them locally and have full use of most of the features and capabilities.
I 4k game but on the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57"
Awesome trailer!
Good video. On a side note, do you know if you can capture signal data similar to cradlepoint and sierra wireless. We use our in vehicle router to capture cellular network data when we need to trouble shoot issue. It provides signal data with a map overlay as well. I was curious if pepwave routers had the same capability. I would like to start testing them as a potential router we can move to as we move to upgrade our routers. Thanks
We do signal telematics accessible in InControl2. I have a training video for InControl2.12 available
Mikrotik?
Never
Instructions unclear. How do I get to Health Check settings
If you click on the wan that you're using for the starlink then scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the health check settings Each wan can have its own individual health check options
you lost me at "lets open the box" glad i was not trying to follow your directions WOW you talked fast!
Sorry trying to fit a lot of content in a short amount of time, I'll try to slow down next time
Or buy a Mikrotik and you are set for life 😃😎. . P.S. good effort on the video.
There is 0 chance we would ever install a mikrotik on an enterprise or business network.
@@WestNetworksLLC You have to be more open minded on other brands other than yours.... Mikrotik routers are beasts and they are used by many ISPs and in corporate networks.
I evaluate almost every brand and try to be as agnostic as possible when making judgment, that being said, I find them to be absolute jokes of a device. I respect many brands but that particular brand in my opinion is cheap garbage. I respect anyone that wants to use whatever they want to use and don't judge but there is zero chance that I would recommend Mikrotik for any of my customers ever. I take pride in evaluations of different brands and products as well as respecting each product for its capabilities and usefulness. Even though we mostly sell peplink, it's fun to look at other products and see how good they are, as well as where they fit well in certain networks. Mikrotik it's cheap garbage with no Enterprise support and is used for cheap unsupported deployments.
wifi 7 would have been nice
Why?
If you had another Pep (say an older Dome) connected to this in Synergy mode, can the SIM Injector also provide SIMs to the synergized device? Also, I don't get why Peplimk hypes the modem speeds when the router throughput is limited to 1Gb/s and constrains them. Same thoughts about the 2.5G LAN port -- it will run out of CPU steam first...
Yes if you synergized another peplink device to the Dome like an older one, it would become part of the Dome and therefore the Sim injector on the lan would be able to provide it sim cards. It's important for peplink to share interface performance specs, but that is why we have router performance specs as well. That being said, the router performance specs are based on standardized testing, we have seen scenarios where the peplink can perform better or worse than the stated spec under unique situations. I had a customer one time push 900 MB per second over an mbx with speedfusion but it's only stated or rated for 500 megabits per second.
Great video, Peter. Thanks a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi, Can the Peplink B One 5G be set to bridge mode to use it solely as a modem and connect a separate router? If so, what is this feature called at Peplink? Best regards!
Ip pass-through which allows the first DHCP client to receive the public IP or CGNatted IP from the cellular is available on the b15g
1:33 litle fuckup
Can someone explain to me, why do sdwan connections with the ipsec protocol not work with starlink (business plan)? 6:41
So the funny thing is ipsec will not work over starlink however, if you bond it using speed fusion then you can run your ipsec if you need to inside the speed fusion tunnel. Peplink sd-wan supports starlink and works very well, especially if you enable FEC has a means of mitigating packet loss.
@@WestNetworksLLC Thank you Peter!
From your perspective is there any limits to the amount of these devices you could synergies? Had the thought it might be possible to make an 8 modem or more array using this method in a cost-effective manner?
There's technically no limit with the exception that you have to have an available WAN port and active care plan
Keen on a heat sync link. Very creative use of the technology.
Thank you! You can find good options on Amazon. "Aluminum Heat Sink 150mmx93mmx15mm/ 5.9x3.66x0.59"
This is awesome! Curious, what software did you end up using to get the games to spread the 3 screens?
No software, just a Windows PC and using Nvidia spanning
What an awesome machine, thinking about upgrading my old peplink to this. Thank You If I hook a 2x2 mimo omni and a 2x2 directional would it combine to them to get the best upload and download speeds? Or would that only work with a 4x4 antenna?
Are you in a static or mobile application?
@@_cashflo_empire2523 Mobile but not in motion the campground we take our 5th wheel to has bas reception. If we use our omni we get great upload but horrendous download. If we hook up our poynting directional and point at any one of the towers we get good download but really bad upload
No, you would not want to mix directional and omnidirectional on a 4x4 mimo connection. You would want all of them to be directional or all of them to be omnidirectional.
Great video Peter. I have three 20X that I’m thinking about adding the 5G module. Would it be better to replace with this new unit?
Thank you! Yes, in this particular case it would be better to replace due to the overall power of the B1 5G over the 20X.
There is more throughut on the ne B one 5g/ B One and an additional physical Wan port.
Is there a part 2?
Can you run all three monitors like that in full 4k UHD?????
Yes, we run them all in 4k with the 4080 and 4090 testing
I’ve got two crystal desks, can they hold 3 of these babies?
While I appreciate the content, the AI noise reduction on this is distracting.
Hi the WAN failed the PING test any recommendation?
I know this is heavily late but at the wan is failing PING test then I would check to make sure The starlink is active and potentially the DNS servers are accessible. This is a pretty standard Health check mechanism which works really well for starlink
Bought one have it set up at home. Now I’m thinking about buying the peplink AP’s. This also has the access point controller.
APs are not worth it
The peplink ap one ax is a great way to extend Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. I use them in my house, at my office and at many other businesses around the country.
What desk are you using??? Where can I get it?
It's the ping pong conference table from upliftesk.com
What's your suggested game mode settings on it? (Sharpness colour etc). I've had the monitor since launch and I do love it but I don't think I've found the perfect settings for gaming just yet.
Honestly we let Nvidia make that decision so those are just stock options It was sort of a nightmare to get set up cuz the screens kept going into their smart mode. But once we got them into HDMI and we're able to create the content we were so happy it was there. We just left it. The screens are huge so after we created the video we just split it up into three individual screens and gave them to employees.
Have you looked into bonding a large number of Starlink terminals (say, 5-10) through one Peplink device, like the SDX-Pro? I'd love to see what that gives you in terms of having one big fat pipe in both directions!
We've connected 20 plus starlink terminals before with the 2500 EC and epx routers
how about viewing the content using IP TV
That might work but not really the purpose of the video
thanks for the info that's life changing
Happy to help!
Amazing video! Your learnings are super helpful. We own / rent Starlink and Pepwave HD4 MAX out of Los Angeles. This is great knowledge for our customers. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome guys! Would you mind sharing the total size of the surface where you horizontal aligned the three monitors ?
Unfortunately, it's already taken apart so we wouldn't be able to answer that with a measuring tape. However, I guess you could do the math
I'd love to see Star Citizen in triple vertical mode.
I know that's a popular game. One of my friends loves that game and has been playing it for a long time. Maybe the next video series will try to do Star citizen a few extra games.
Looooooove
I got four Arc 55" connecting them to a 4090. I have the exact same problem that when I connect the third monitor the computer recognizes it but the monitor is not recognizing the input from the computer/4090. However, I wasn't able of resolving it by "just swapping the boxes". I've contacted Samsung, and they are hopelessly lost in resolving - they don't even understand the problem. I'm trying to get to second level support but failing at it. For now, I think people should stay away from these screens for multi-monitor setups :(
(this is on gen2 btw)
You’re rich bro 😂💯
As cool as it is, it's not really efficient and they're incredibly heavy. It broke our conference table
@@beetree2have you figured out the fix? I am having the same problem right now
Hi Peter, that's a awesome video! Are able to make a new one with the AP with 4 antennas? Are also able to talk more about the coverage in clear line of sight? Thank you so much!!!
Actually, the new ap ax Pro is a for antenna solution with two dedicated 2.4 and two dedicated five antennas
For making this video i goes sub!!! And i thank u for making my dream come true to see this happen!!!
I have three of these monitors and have not been able to get them running together, would you kindly advise what steps you have undertaken to achieve this? Many thanks in advance!
how did you go? he said he just swapped the boxes between 2 and 3 and it magically fixed the issue i have tried and still no good and i am using 4090
Just wondering how important setting the MTU to 1500 is ? We have several units on Auto but wondering if some background issues we see are because of this ?
Auto should configure as 1500
How did you get this device in Incontrol2 with Primecare expired?
I have a special lab license that allows me to use routers non-production for training purposes. I'm not allowed to use it for any production or customer engagement, but only for creating the videos
